Welcome to Ellam Financial. We are Independent Financial Advisers and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

We hope you will find dealing with us a rewarding experience. As a husband and wife partnership we pride ourselves on offering a very high level of personal service and, unlike much larger practices with their typically high staff turnover, after 25 years, we are here to stay! When considering using our services we find that the following queries are typically asked:

Do you specialise in any type of client or service?
No, we deal with clients from all walks of life but find that many who previously managed their own financial matters, no longer have the time so "outsource" their affairs to us as specialists. Much of our work concerns clients approaching retirement and beyond and involves both pensions and investment advice. As to services, we offer a full financial planning service and also advise on issues arising concerning pensions and divorce.
If I choose to pay a fee, what happens to the commission?
This can be either offset against your account or left in the plan to enhance its benefits.
I am about to retire and would like to consider income drawdown. How do you advise in this area?
We would prepare a full report offering all the alternatives and would generally dissuade you from income drawdown if your pension fund is of insufficient size.
I understand that pensions were simplified in April 2006. Are you able to advise how this might affect me?
Yes, there are considerable ramifications to this and, unfortunately, by no means will pensions become that much simpler!
We have inherited an investment portfolio and feel that it should be assessed.
We will be pleased to do this and can offer advice on correct asset allocation and portfolio rebalancing, together with ongoing monitoring. We can also call on the services of our stockbroking connections when required.
I need life assurance cover? Can you assist?
Certainly! Apart from seeking the best rate we will ensure that the right plan is effected on the correct basis (the use of trusts is often advisable and this can be complex).
