Our History
Peter Ellam established Ellam Financial in April 1986. The practice was established to advise and service clients referred by local solicitors and accountants. As the business expanded, increasingly by client referral. In 1996, Ellam Financial was changed into a partnership when Peter's wife Estelle joined him. The Practice Manager is Alison Close who joined us in 1997. Since then, Ellam Financial have grown by adding clients with whom they can establish long term relationships.
Our Team
Peter Ellam, who founded Ellam Financial, left the Army's Intelligence Corps in 1970 to begin his career as a life assurance broker and subsequently independent financial adviser. Following several years with the prestigious employee benefits consultants, Noble Lowndes, he became a director of a local insurance brokerage before setting up Ellam Financial. He is a member of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) and his hobbies include equestrian pursuits and driving his classic sports car.
Estelle Ellam Dip PFS, has 30 years experience in the financial services industry in a variety of roles including administration, sales, compliance and management. She is a member of the Personal Finance Society (PFS) and holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC) including the approved Pension exam G60 which enables her to provide specialist advice in the area of pensions, her particular area of expertise. She is also the practice's primary "technician". Her hobbies are horse riding, graphology, shopping (of course!) and managing two very lively fox terriers named Jake and Jeannie.
Alison Close is our Practice Manager. Her role at Ellam Financial is ever-expanding and covers client relationship management, administration and assisting in the whole financial planning process. She lives locally with her partner, and their two children, Billie and Archie. Her hobbies include watching football (dedicated Liverpool supporter!), cooking and entertaining.
